Frequently asked questions

Yes! Admission is free to Lancashire Police Museum.  The education service is also free.

We also gratefully accept financial donations. All donations are spent on new displays and looking after the collection. We recommend that a donation of £2 is made on your visit to our free museum.

You do not need to book to visit Lancashire Police Museum unless you want to visit with a group (adults or children).

We’re very sorry but Lancashire Police Museum is on the first floor of a historic building and access is only by stairs, at present.

Lancashire Constabulary transferred a lot of its personnel records to Lancashire Archives (Bow Lane, Preston).

We collect and care for a collection of Lancashire Constabulary objects from its earliest days in the nineteenth century. The collection includes photos, uniform, historic documents and equipment. We’re happy to discuss a donation of an object or objects. Please send an email to policemuseum@lancashire.police.uk.
